Volks! Tonight the TD motor fired right up in my Syncro 16 Multivan - Specs are as follows: - 1.9L AAZ Turbo Diesel from a 1996 Jetta - Stock KKK K03 Turbo Charger - 2.5" exhaust with glass pack muffler (very quiet!) - K+N cone filter located (and isolated) behind driver side tail light. - Fast Forward 15 degree Diesel Engine Mounting Kit. What is 'different' with the 15 degree Diesel Mounting Kit over the regular one? The big difference is that fact that it comes with a gear reduction starter that works with the 228mm clutch system (30% more clutch area than the Diesel systems) and this starter works in a Syncro with the standard 'gasoline' fuel tank and wasserboxer bell housing!!! The kit also ships with a wire harness / glow plug relay system, a throttle cable and cold start cable. Basically everything you need to mount a 1.6TD or 1.9TD in your Vanagon. Vibration is nil and the protrusion through the engine cover is about 2" - we are making a 3.0" box on the engine cover so we have enough room for the engine to move a little plus add some sound / heat proofing. Pictures are coming soon to our web site as well as finalized pricing. I also have a limited supply of 1.9TD motors if anyone is interested!
