When I got my Vanagon, I had the local dealer put the VIN into their computer
system which supplied a list of all the recalls and which had been applied to
my Westy ('88) I ended up geting a fuel line modification/replacement that the
PO had not done.
I think there is a way you can register with VWoA to make sure you are getting
the recall notices.
You can also see the recalls and service bullitens at:

Listmembers,
I am the 4th owner of this Vanagon. Apparently the previous owners missed
getting this recall done on the fuel injectors.
I would appreciate any advice the list has on this recall. I have an appt.
to have it done on 8/19th at a local dealer. But, is there anything special
I should be asking for them to check or other things I should be concerned
about. I wonder if this fuel injector problem was a factor in the fire in
the van which was on the listmail I think a few days ago - a van for sale
after a fire.
