The Subaru Outback Sport has a functional hood scoop connected to the
intercooler.  So does the new Mini Cooper.  GM put a hood scoop on a
version of the Pontiac Firebird and claimed a 5 hp power increase from ram
air.  Some guy on the Internet put a ram air intake behind the grille of
his Geo Storm and found that if he pushed in the clutch at highway speeds,
the ram air increased the idle speed by 500 rpm.

Sure you're not oversimplifying?
