I have two mounted on the heater duct in front of the
shifter, one on each side. I have a photo here:

If you mount them here, make sure you block off the
heater ducts on the backside of the panel (unless you
want a drink warmer). I have some foam blocks that
block all of the vent and tape over the middle opening
with duct tape so I can still use the lower side exit
outlets when I need them.

I was going to mount mine on the seat pedestal between
the seat like they were in my Carat, but I remember
having to replace the Carat ones at least once and
clean the middle carpet section due to people (me)
stepping on them when going to the back of the van.
