Oddly enough, and just to add debate, I was lucky that the fire extinguisher didn't work when my van's fuel lines went up... The fire was small and out early, but an extinguisher would have eaten the metal of the engine block, doing more damage than the fire did. 'S just what the friendly local firemen said as they swapped stories about all the vehicles they'd burned themselves. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com]On Behalf Of Rich Blake Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 10:02 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Spare Parts List - Input This is almost EXACTLY what I have in my van + a small assortment of tools and a first aid kit (cause you know you're gonna get SOME kind of laceration or whatever if you are using the TOOLS, which also means you are probably pissed and certainly not calm when using said TOOLS). For really long trips I would bring some OEM oil filters for those necessary oil changes. I also have a very small 12V air compressor.
