The rotor sits over this thing. Anyway, since I know you have a 2wd, let me suggest that you should be looking at a South African Caravelle hub instead. The 2wd version does not have splines. Instead it has a grove for the front wheel bearings. I have one sitting in my hand this very second. The part number on the backside says BCY4077617 D. You can view the thickness by looking at the pic at: http://members.aol.com/realsf/images/studcomparo.jpg Heck, I'd even consider selling this to you along w/ the new dust caps, bearings and seals. All you will need is to get SA big brake rotors and calipers to fit them onto a 2wd Vanagon. Of course, there is a certain amount of grinding to make the calipers fit onto your steering knuckle (suspension uprights). I don't know exactly. I sort of got these for another one of my experiments. So if you make me an obscene enough offer, I will consider PARTing with it. Remember how I like to makes things difficult for you because you make things easier for OTHER people? BenT Hubs Vanagon Cafe
