Thanks very much for many of you knowledgeable folks who provided expert
advice to this sticky lifter problem. I am now completely clear what caused
the tapping noise. I also learnt that Stan provided the following web page is
certainly most helpful to all "new" owner of an "old" Westy. It takes a lot
of times and efforts to put together this 4 pages, detailed description of
how to put the old horse back to its clean shape. I highly recommend new
