Subject: What kind of AC is this?

Hello,

Please take a look on this picture taken
in Germany:

http://thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/42130.jpg

I was told that the pipe on the right
door is an external AC sold in US. I
never heard about it, does anyone
know details? Is it available somewhere?

Regards
Helmut
