Hi folks,
Now that I have moved to an area with humidity and rain (not like AZ),
I have a bunch of flaky rust on the rim on my fuel filler. Every time I take
off the gas cap, little red bits fall off. I am sure that no seal is being
made by my rigid old gas cap, and some of that rust is getting into the tank.
So, how do others treat this dilemma? Obviously, grinding it down is
a questionable procedure (boom). How bad is it to replace? Can I just
resurface it with JB Weld after killing the rust chemically? Any other
ideas?
Thanks
Bill Marshall
