The torque converter and seal has nothing to do with ATF getting into the final drive. It is either leaking through the governor shaft or the seals between the final drive and auto section. The governor is a fairly easy fix if the housing and shaft are not worn. The inner seals require some disassembly. When changing the gear lube the other day I had ATF come pouring out of the fill hole when I pulled the plug. This indicates TC seal failure, yes? Is this something replaceable without pulling the tranny apart, I know it has to be removed. Any experiences out there? Don't experiment with double seals or seal adhesive, just follow VW procedure! Regards, John
