Subject:Coolant Temp/Pressure Gauge Install on 1.9l
From:Jay L Snyder

On the 1.9 engine there is a block off plate on the front side of the left
head (driver's side). I think this would be an ideal place to install the
sender for a coolant temp. gauge and possibly a pressure gauge. It is a
flat plate that is attached with two bolts and a gasket. It would be
pretty easy to drill and tap this for a pipe thread sender. There may be
room to install a second tapped hole for the pressure gauge (0-20 psi?).
Sometime before my next coolant change I will make a plate with one or two
tapped holes. All electronic gauges would be best, with no worrying about
flexing lines for the pressure gauge.
