I can see it now: The entire roof of your vanagon covered with cast off VW solar panels. You remove the waterboxer and install an industrial electric motor from a forklift. Your wife is on the roof with the kids, aiming the solar array to get optimum power while your van speeds down the road at 10 mph (when you get the angle just right). :-) Or you can be like me: too lazy to take the thing out of the passenger side windshield you drive around with everyone looking at your van funny. "What does that nut have stuck to the inside of his windshield this time?" Have a great Tuesday! I have five already, and more on the way (trying to build an array that will provide usable power beyond trickle charging). According to this dealer, VW is having them throw the panels away, or give to the customer if the customer wants it. tx, bmc :) "Faith will move mountains, but you'd better bring a shovel...." > From: Doug Alcock <doug.alcock@HEWITT.COM> > Reply-To: Doug Alcock <doug.alcock@HEWITT.COM> > Date: Fri, 27 Sep 2002 10:46:23 -0400 > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: VW Solar Battery Panels > > http://www.ep.com/js/mi/c0/b0/v0/1461355.html > > Someone is selling those VW Solar Battery Panels that come with each new > VW for $120 a pop................if anyone's interested > > Cheers, > Doug >
