Thats exactly the same idea Audi used in their Audi 5000s and 100s with A/C. Since the battery is under the rear seats, a hot terminal is located under the hood. Simple and well engineered by VW germans :-))) Raimund ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joel Cort" <joel_cort@YAHOO.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, October 08, 2002 3:24 AM Subject: Re: Easier battery jumping? > To all who hate tearing apart the van just to get a jump... > My wife has a BMW 525i and it has a battery stupidly mounted under the rear passenger seat. It is a pain to pull appart to get to it. > The way BMW has taken care of that is put a HOT terminal post right in the engine compartiment. It is well insulated and isolated and easy to get to under the hood. If the car needs a jump it is simple to open the hood and attach the positive to the post and the negative to a good ground on the engine. Simple and well engineered by other Germans. Ah I wished I could clone the BMW engine into our vans, man would it be fast............. > Now if we could do that through our little license plate door that would make it easier to jump start these vans with a failling battery. > Joel > 89 Syncro Westy > Rochester NY. > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Faith Hill - Exclusive Performances, Videos, & more > faith.yahoo.com >
