I've patched about five of them and just always throw them in on other
sales, never sold one.
I grind them down to bare metal, apply a layer of muffler sealer with
fiberglass fabric then I bake them in the oven at 400 degrees.
After that I sand them down and apply more Fiberglas and muffler sealer.
Then bake them again.
The muffler seal is about the same color as the OEM paint was.
That is a lot more heat than they'll ever get in their application.
Its kind of tedious but everybody that I sent one has been happy with
saving $150.00 + for new ones.
