i reinforced the whole area behind my fiberglass bumpers w/ steel angle
iron..  i bolted a U channel from one bumper bracket to the other, and welded
U channel on the outer edges of the bumper brackets to support the corners.
this is all hidden behind the fiberglass bumper, and not visible at all.
