I have a hose that is disconnected, and I don't know where it is supposed to connect.  One hose comes off the front of my air filter housing and goes forward to a tank located just forward and inboard of the passenger side rear wheel.  The other hose comes off the same tank and returns to the engine compartment, where it is not connected.  The tank, standing vertically, is maybe 3" in diameter and 8" high (estimates).

Where should this be connecting?  Could it have something to do with the brakes, which are spongy right now?  The brake hose with check valve is on the other side, I think.
