I believe that what we are trying to accomplish is the condensation of list replies so that it doesn't clog the archives or overload our members using digest mode. When I search the archives I find that the main problem is the entire subject has been changed from the original subject line. Without adequate quoted content the subsequent replies are lost. I believe that the archives search engine will work better with the first few lines as the quoted material. Tom Carrington can elaborate on this and make the final decision.
