Hey, my wife had purple hair earlier this year, and it was quite stunning.
It was a dark purple, looked black indoors, but lit up in the sunlight.
Absolutley beautiful.  I might add she was the operations manager for a major
sports-drink manufacturing facility, and a very well-respected part of the
parent company.  Colored hair is currently a huge fashion in Europe (you
know, the place our Puritan ancestors ran away from ;) ).  She has abundant
self-esteem.

Of course, I will assume you meant fluorescent purple, combined with a
Mohawk.  Yikes!  :)
