NVC.
I've got a 1991 Canadian (2.0 16 valve) passat with early CIS-E motronic.  I
want to retrieve the Fault Codes.  I know how to jumper the DLC to initiate
the code dump. Heres my problem: Canadian vehicles do not have the dash
Malfunction Indicator Light, nor does my vehicle have the blue connector for
attaching an LED to blink out the codes.  Is there a light somewhere else?
Is the VAG 1551 scan tool the only way to get the codes?

Car is hard to start cold.  Starts okay when warm and been sitting for up to
10 minutes.  After that it is hard to start again.
Cold start injector is okay.  Temp sensor is okay.  Fuel pressure?
