No problem. I did the same swap about 4 months ago. Just take all the fuel
injection electronics (ECU, idle control, etc.) when you drop the engine and
tranny on both vans. Everything will fit in exactly the same locations when
you reinstall.

Cheers

Subject: '85 1.9L into an 84?

My 85 van with 500 miles on a new engine was wrecked by a big wheeler and I
have an opportunity to buy an 84 Wolfsburg for $1500. My question is can
the 85 1.9L be dropped into the 84 without any special
problems/accomodations. It looks like the same engine, but I wonder about
the ECU, electric considerations, etc. Oh, and if possible, I would drop
the 85 1.9L along with the transmission, since it is less than a year new,
too.
