With a plugged cat, I actually have had vans run fine at lower speeds/rpms (i.e. around the block) but bog down at higher speeds. The water in the gas bit can be intermittent as well. Fuel filter depends, but can also be intermittent. I'd start with the easy stuff, then go from there. tx, bmc :) Ben McCafferty ben@volkscafe.com Volks Cafe 1823 Soquel Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 831-426-1244 http://www.volkscafe.com > From: Mike Miller <mwmiller@CWNET.COM> > Reply-To: Mike Miller <mwmiller@CWNET.COM> > Date: Wed, 11 Dec 2002 12:48:13 -0800 > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Engine won't rev up > > Drove it around the block > and it ran just fine [except for lifter noise] > > Don't think it would run fine if it were water in the gas, a clogged cat, or > bad fuel filters. But it's the day after a rain here and quick damp. Maybe > an intermittent something in the engine electrics?
