I had the vacuum line from the pedals to the cruise control pump or the vacuum valves themselves in the clutch/brake switch develop a leak recently. I unplugged this hose and capped the plastic tee right where it comes out of the cruise control pump so that the pump is only hooked to the servo. The electrical switch on the brake and clutch still turns off the cruise control when the are pressed, and the gas pedal does release fast enough. I guess they had the vacuum release as well for extra safety in case the cruise control module failed with a stuck closed valve. Anyway, I don't mind driving with the safety vacuum line plugged.
