Welcome back Mike! There is a place up here that rebuilds them for $125.00 near Seattle.
Look for a an electric motor rebuild shop in your area.

Got back tonight from 6 months in the Persian Gulf area. I spent a
month in Jordan and another month in Kuwait. Noticed Eurovan Syncros in
pickup and van form in Darwin, Australia. Glad to be back to my diesels
here in California. Anyone ever pay to have a diesel starter rebuilt?
How much?
