My Syncro Double Cab will have a factory immobilizer when I get it going this spring. I am using a 2000 New Beetle TDI motor that has the immobilizer key - it's a start! I envision something that would operate much like the remote locking system on a car. Except the solinoid would actuate a fuel valve, shutting off or opening the valve as required. The added hassle of trying to figure out how to get the thing to go would discourage most thieves, as they typically want to get in, hot wire, and get gone quickly. Any delay and they could get caught. No fuel is a definite delaying tactic. Just a thought. John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
