Thank you John for your report.  You confirm a conclusion I have reached
(based on a lot less miles and very mild conditions) that the
Vanagon/Westy is a lot more reliable than the impression one can get
from reading the various Internet lists.  With basic maintenance and
common sense they give good, reliable service.  And we sometimes forget
that there are literally thousands of Vanagons and Westy's in service
out there that just keep doing their job and doing it very well.  Thanks
