Volks, I will be heading to Germany in April. The main purpose of the trip will be to partake at the Syncro off road get together in Karenz which is close to Hamburg. The Karenz event is April 11, 12, 13. Before the trip I will be purchasing a Syncro of my own to go to the even and possibly a VW Iltis as well just because I miss mine old one so much! What should I do with the rest of the time that I am in Germany? I've been to Wolfsburg and have seen Audostadt and the Museum. I've driven from Berlin to Hamburg too many times. I spent a whole summer in the Frankfurt-am-Main region. So I am looking for something a little different from my usual trip of gathering interesting VWs and parts. Does any one have any suggestions on where I can go? My friend in Bremen is taking me to the Beck's factory for a tour and I might take a spin up to Denmark or Belgium. Is there any list members in Germany who want to get together for a beer or coffee? It seems the deal with the air lines is that my last 'hop' within Germany is free. I could go Vancouver-Toronto-Munich and Hamburg-Frankfurt-Vancouver for the same price as if I went Vancouver-Frankfurt return so it is pretty open as far as where I can go within Germany. More than likely I will be getting a German Rail pass as well... Suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
