VW factory alloy wheels DO NOT require a stud change for normal usage as long as you use conical seat hardware to attach them. The exception is if you upgrade to the South African Caravelle brake drums. They are thicker at the center than the US spec Vanagon brake drums. They need slightly longer studs.
