the wheels on my new-to-me bordeaux '88 wolfsburg (carat) are very different - i've never seen carat wheels like this before. they are the typical vanagon alloy 14" carat/wolfsburg wheel, but instead of ALL silver like most are - these are painted dark grey in the center of the wheel (to match the dark grey ov the bumpers) and the outer lip/rim is machined/polished aluminum and clearcoated. the center caps are dark grey too. this is not a custom job - it came this way from the factory.. has anyone else seen a 88 vanagon wolfsburg with this paint treatment to the alloys?? strange.. chris
