Sorry, but can someone tell me if terminal velocity applies to meteors? In other words, if it does, wouldn't this meteor have the same speed and momentum as a rock of equivalent size dropped from the top of a skyscraper? If so, it makes more sense that the damage is appropriate. Hmmmm.... tx, bmc :) Ben McCafferty ben@volkscafe.com Volks Cafe 1823 Soquel Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 831-426-1244 http://www.volkscafe.com > From: Stan Wilder <wilden1@JUNO.COM> > Reply-To: Stan Wilder <wilden1@JUNO.COM> > Date: Fri, 17 Jan 2003 19:02:34 -0600 > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Friday - hazards to our van (LVC) > > Since this Meteor probably weighed several tons at the beginning of its > trip it is nice that it burned off a little before impact. > > Stan Wilder > > On Fri, 17 Jan 2003 17:04:10 -0700 Bill N <freeholder@STARBAND.NET> > writes: >> This meteor was at the bottom of that scale initially.
