Before you do anything, try putting a bottle of gas line antifreeze/water remover in your tank. Is the van starved for fuel? If you have a fuel pressure guage, make sure the fuel pressure is high enough out of the pump. I think it's supposed to be 32 psi. After that consider.. Is the tank vented properly? Take of the gas cap and see if the noise goes away. If your tank is not vented properly the pump will be pulling against a vacum. Is the fuel filter clogged? Just some thoughts others shared with me when I went through the same thing. Greg. 82 westy MMunn wrote: > I thought my "old" fuel pump had to be replaced because it was so noisy. It had a steady drone-like tone that was very annoying. I was told that it probably needed replacing. So, I replaced it with a Bosch product. Immediately I was not pleased. The new pump made pretty much the exact same constant tone as the old. > > But, after 10 weeks, something happened this morning. The new Bosch pump now makes a whole new set of noises. Behind the tone is a cyclical rise-and-fall in volume, like a vibration/hum that drowns out the original tone. Then there's the harsh vibration that I hear when I shut off the van, like a grating grinding sound. > > Any suggestions here? > > Matthew > VANCOUVER
