To all of you who have asked about the engines and tranny's  in the junk yard in North Carolina.
The name of the junk yard is Irving's, their telephone #  is 910-371-9331. The yard is located just a few miles South of Wilmington, NC. off hwy 17.  The person to ask for is a gentleman named Bill. As far as I know there are 2 VW vans, one is a later model,  86 - 91 burned out full camper, the other onea normal van and  perhaps an 81. Both have engines and transmissions. Engines $ 100.00, tranny's  $ ..? There was a third van but I could not find it this past weekend, it may have gone to the crusher.
