Future TDI converters, I have done quite a bit of research on this engine and it's usefulness in a Vanagon conversion. This engine model can only be mounted upright for some reason. This data was confirmed by several sources including but not limited to HA-Projekt. It can be mounted in the Vanagon but you'd have to have a huge hump in the deck to accommodate it sitting vertical. Just thought I'd save someone the research or anguish. I certainly don't mean to burst your bubble Bob, you seem like a really nice guy. I'm sure someone can use it, I just want them to know what their getting into. -Steven Dodson Kneeland, CA 'Inga' the 87 Syncro Date: Fri, 7 Feb 2003 19:12:27 -0500 From: "b.t.allen" <b.t.allen@MYACTV.NET> Subject: 1.9 TDI FS Folks, After getting input from Karl M the price on the 1.9 TDI has been lowered to $1000.00 Karl said that was the fair value as you have to get a number of other components from a salvage yard or Diesel Geek i.e.; wiring harness, ecu, etc. This is a tight and well running engine, not from a wreck, 110K, Mobil 1 from birth, new head and 80-100K timing belt kit from Diesel geek. Complete engine less fore mention components. In No Va, can ship on pallet anywhere. Thanks Bob Allen 86 Syncro
