Perhaps another case of the brown ground wire (on the engine - driver's side head - under the intake manifold) making a bad connection? Most folks look after this little wire after they have changed out many expensive components with no luck. Me included! Learn from my mistake. Check the wire. ---------------------------------------- Laurence Smith Hamilton, Ontario, Canada 90 Westy (fanumbos) 87 GL (Subaru conversion in progress) ---------------------------------------- > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List > [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM]On Behalf > Of Patrick Rueb > Sent: Monday, February 10, 2003 10:27 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: crazy o2 sensor prob > > > my van will lose all power. gas to floor makes motor starts > poppin. idle at > 500 rpm. van doesnt really move. i just put in new temp > sensor and o2 sensor. > only way i can drive it normal is keeping the o2 sensor > disconneted. runs > perfect with it unhooked. tried 3 different o2 sensors has > soon as it goes > to closed loop no power. any ideas > 87 wolfsburg 2.1l 4 speed 273k miles > drivin with out an o 2 sensor hooked up > thank-you > patrick >
