This ISV - ISC thing has been a problem for a lot of folk for a long time. Right now I'm running with the ISV unplugged because of what it does when connected -- basically causes my engine to jerk slightly especially when lightfooted on the gas. Ia know the ISC is expensive, and is problematic So I wonder if it is possible to build a replacement from components from the electronics store. Darrel Boehler came up with his wonderful Digifant Digitool, I'm putting together a circuit board to interface with my Desktop PC that allows control of 8 electric kilns or other devices related to my ceramic work. Why not a homebuilt Idle Stabilizer Control unit? I'm not knowledgeable enough to work out the parameters, but I can surely follow a list of materials and work a circuit board up from a circuit diagram, if anyone could come up with such a thing. (Both very expensive) Anyway, upon arriving at my driveway and putting the van into park, the idle shot up to about 2500 RPM and stayed there, even after I kicked the throttle a bit. > > FWIW. The ISV is definitely buzzing, and I cleaned all the contacts on the control unit a couple of months ago. Any ideas? This needs to be sorted out soon, as this van may be a daily driver come March.
