Sort of. Turn your steering wheel while the belt is squealing--if it gets worse, it's the P/S. Turn off the A/C. If the squealing stops, it's the A/C. The other two you just have to look at the belt and check tension. tx, bmc :) Ben McCafferty ben@volkscafe.com Volks Cafe 1823 Soquel Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 831-426-1244 http://volkscafe.com > From: Todd Last <Rubatoguy@MINDSPRING.COM> > Reply-To: Todd Last <Rubatoguy@MINDSPRING.COM> > Date: Thu, 13 Feb 2003 19:30:07 -0800 > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Noisy pulleys > > Is there an easy way to identify what accessory, > water pump > Power Steering pump > Alternator > A/C Compressor > > is making noise without taking off the fanbelts? > It is not distinct enough to pinpoint which it is just listening. > > > Todd > '88 Westy
