Could your pulleys be reversed? I bought my vanagon with pulleys for the water pump on wrong. PO drove it from NJ to Ohio, wholesaler drove it from Ohio to Minnesota. I drove it from Minnesota to Orange County. While en route to Orange Country from San Marcos in San Diego County, the belt finally shredded and I was standed in the rest stop in Oceanside... I think the PO told me the water pump was replaced at Pep Boys. >From: Neil Wasbrikoff <wasbrikoff@NETSCAPE.NET> >Reply-To: Neil Wasbrikoff <wasbrikoff@NETSCAPE.NET> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Power steering belt problems... >Date: Thu, 6 Feb 2003 09:59:34 -0500 > >Hi Volks, > >I have a 1987 Westy, which has 116k miles on it.
