    Are you sure the tank is junk or is it just the fill valve and/or regulator? I replaced the autostop fill valve with a standard fill valve and new 90% valve (or is it 80?). I also replaced the regulator as mine was shot. Everything works great now. It seems it would take a lot to ruin the tank, but maybe rust is worse where you are.
