I bought my first Vanagon - and 85 GL - in Alaska and the first cold, icey, snowy spell I spun out in the road going up a hill on a highway. Spooked me good. I went straight away and got a set of studded tires. I never had a lick of trouble after that, l8ight load or heavy load. Just needed a proper tire capabale of getting a get a grip under the conditins. John Rodgers 88 GL Driver Mark Dorm wrote: > Where did this idea come from???
