I just went out and poked around some more; I discovered that the "fan"
sound I'm hearing is the starter spinning! The bendix won't engage, but the
starter's obviously getting power. Earlier, it turned off on its own, but I
disconnected the battery just in case. Also, all the visible fuses in the
fuse panel look fine; there's nothing obviously blown. There have been NO
previous indications of electrical gremlins before this morning. Help! TIA-
