If you have a black EGR box and a two part cable .............. there is
a little nylon ring on the cable going into the EGR lower side cable
connection. This little ring can slide forward (allowing cable to slip
out) or it could get broken allowing the cable to move in and out of the
receiver. It is a fragile setting to get the cable in the black box and
the cable end through your grease cap with the clip on it.
Hope it is this simple but speedometers fail all of a sudden and a good
spray cleaning with electronics parts cleaner and a few drops of sewing
machine oil might fix the speedometer if that is your problem (don't
touch the speedometer needle, FRAIL is the word for them) leave the dirt
on it.
