Neil, In my experience, the 80/100 bulbs in the main assembly won't make much difference, as the reflector pattern isn't that great. 100 watt bulbs in your driving lights, on the other hand, make for a nice upgrade. If you add higher wattage bulbs, be sure to do the relay upgrade first. The relay upgrade will add a lot of brightness to your old bulbs as well. If you add the higher wattage bulbs, you will also need to bump the fuses from 10 to 15 amps. tx, bmc :) Ben McCafferty ben@volkscafe.com Volks Cafe 1823 Soquel Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 831-426-1244 http://volkscafe.com > From: Neil Wasbrikoff <wasbrikoff@NETSCAPE.NET> > Reply-To: Neil Wasbrikoff <wasbrikoff@NETSCAPE.NET> > Date: Sun, 2 Mar 2003 17:19:49 -0500 > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: headlight bulb question... > > Hello Volks, > > would anyone know, if I can use an 80/100 watt, 9004 bulb in my main head > light housing? Here's a link I found, which lists some nice bulbs.
