If that's what you want, why not go to Radio Shack and buy some battery
holders to make up your own pack for your existing light?  Eight of any
of the common "letter type" cells (AAA, AA, C, D) will get you 12V.  Or
use two lantern batteries in series and connect them with alligator clips.
