        Excellent dissertation. Here is a random thought: Has anyone
successfully converted from hall effect to points for an extended amount
of time? When the Hall Effect on my 86 crapped out and left me stranded I
substituted an ancient distributor (from a Ghia or Type II bus) that was
laying around the garage. It got me home but performance was nothing to
write home about. On the other hand I timed it by ear.
