Don't get me wrong, my entire house is held together with them, but they seem to get dry and brittle in autos. You figure you'll want your hoses to last at least 10-15 years, right? Many of the zips on my 12 year-old Vanagon can snap by just twisting a bit. Anyone have any good suggestions for material that's better? Large gear clamps?
