I just replaced the front heater fan and rear heater core in my 86 GL. I
would like to mention something I noticed that is not covered in the
excellent web sights detailing this procedure. First thing when using a
knife to pop open the welds holding the box together make sure you use a
locking blade. My knife folded up on my index finger and cut from the nail
to the first knuckle on my index finger. OUCH!!!
The best thing is, now I have heat. Of course it was 60 degrees
today. Oh well.
I read that this is supposed to be a bad job. It was time consuming but no
worse than changing a brake booster out in a GMC or Mitsubishi cab over. I
do about one of these a week.
Ken Wilfor@vanagain supplied parts and service was great, only thing
Ken needs to send 11 clips, instead of 10. Just thought I would share the
wonderful news with everybody.
