Subject:Re: window tint: film or glass

Unless you remove the side slider window frames you'll have a gap where
there is no tint... its flat glass... so you could just have the glass
replaced with tinted glass (not a film, but the glass itself...) but if you
want to keep it as a slider.. then you'd have to fuss with the press down
buttons...

Sputtered metal is better - thats what I have... but two layers of it would
be darker...

I have Solargard in charcoal... which isn't purely sputtered... their
Quantum is 100% sputtered... and maybe it would be a better color/tone???
The charcoal is alright... but overall I'd rather have tinted glass itself
and not the film, though I could see using a film tint for the far rear
because of the defrost.. and the front sides because of the curve...

Sputtered will not turn purple..... its dyed film that does that...
sputtered is little bits of metal imbedded in the film... your aluminum
cookpans don't turn blue... neither will your sputtered tint...
