Would anyone know if the parts from the auto. tranny from diesel jetta which I think started in 1999 would fit into my auto. tranny from my Vanagon?

If yes it would mean I could convert my gas engine to diesel and swap the tranny stuff from the Jetta to my vanagon.

Thanks,
