Subject:Re: Anyone shipped an auto trans?

When I got my AT from Long Enterprises in CA in May of 2000, they shipped it in
three different boxes here to VA. Here's the breakdown:
Box 1, Final Drive, 64 lbs, $38.04
Box 2, Torque Converter, 22 lbs, $17.74
Box 3, Transmission, 90 lbs, $52.44

Shipped UPS Ground.

According to Daryl's (sp?) info on shipping at the AA Transaxle web site, "A
Vanagon trans weighing 100 Lbs costs about $90 to ship. UPS will ship up to
150Lbs."

You shouldn't have to truck ship it unless you're shipping the tranny and final
drive together.
