The process consist on dipping the suspect part into a water or solvent soluble(sp) fluorecent dye. Remove the part, allow it to "dwell", or sit there, and absorb the dye. Rinse the excess dye off and apply a "developer" which gives the part a uniform color. Examine the part with a blacklight looking for places the dye has seeped into any "discontinuities", or cracks. Google "dye penetrant inspection" and I'm sure that you'll turn up hundreds of site detailing the process *much* better than I. If there is harmony in the house, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world. ~ Chinese Proverb ~
