I think that west coast machine near the water will rust too. Salt air will do the same as salt on road. I have seen rusty Vans out there. Not as many no. But can be found. Very nice page on how to fix. Bad part is just taking cabinet out. Metal looks easy. Good Morning, Fred E-mail message - a picture is worth a thousand words THIS is why I wont buy an east coast/midwest Vanagon. Nuff said. -s From: JordanVw@AOL.COM Reply-To: JordanVw@AOL.COM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: SEAM RUST - a picture is worth a thousand words Date: Sat, 29 Mar 2003 23:24:33 EST In a message dated 3/29/03 11:15:34 PM Eastern Standard Time, JordanVw@AOL.COM writes: http://www.rustbuster.nl/Bus_zijpaneel/index1.htm damn.. if that isnt a surefire way to get people to seal up their water/electric fill ports and stop moisture from getting back there, then i dont know what is.. for those of you who didnt see the above site, the whole drivers side of the westy had to be replaced.. and dont be to sure that yours doesnt look like that behind your cabinets right now, either.. what you cant see CAN hurt your van.. chris ______________________________________________ Fred
